On Friday we were engineering a bridge made out of play do and finding the weak and strong parts. We learnt about civil engineers and how they design bridges. We also read a book about different types of bridges before we designed and created our own.
This is what you need to build a bridge
- tooth picks
- a Lego car {To test if your car can hold the balance}
- play dough {to hold the tooth picks together}
We used square shapes to make our first bridge but it was not strong and it could not hold a lego car.
Then we use triangle shapes in our bridge and it was so so so strong! It held the car
Quiz
What is the strongest shape?
